Do I need a specific tool or system to join?

Well you'll need a phone, because Instagram is an app made to be used on your phone (although we have a hack for that ;)). And the Instagram app downloaded. A general know how of Insta would make life easier, but I got you! The 12 day challenge included in the Instagram Incubator was specifically designed to help you get familiar with the basics of Insta.

You'll need to have some sort of email service provider tool set up. But if you don't have one. No sweat, I'll hook you up. It’s a common misconception that you need to have expensive, over-the-top, complicated email service provider tools. You can keep that shit simple, and still make big money.
